The above prices apply to the Everest and Annapurna regions and most other areas; treks to more remote places may cost a little more.
Prices include transportation to and from the Kathmandu airport, four nights at a hotel in Kathmandu (two before trek, two after), sightseeing in and around Kathmandu, get-acquainted banquet before the trek and farewell dinner afterwards, and all meals and expenses on the trek except bus and air fares, national park fees and personal purchases (like sodas, beer and souvenirs).
I provide tents, all food and cooking gear, insurance for porters and staff and trekking permits. Members bring their own sleeping bags and pads, duffel bags, clothing and personal items. I will provide a list of suggested items to bring, including an estimate of any additional costs in Kathmandu and on the trek.
Internal air fares run about $60 to $65 per person, one-way; bus fares are considerably cheaper. Meals in Kathmandu (besides the two dinners included in the fee) are very inexpensive.
My staff is highly reliable. Several of them know English and can provide a personal view of the Nepali people. Meals on the trek will be a combination of tasty Nepali and western foods.
I can provide several references from people who have trekked with me before, who will speak to prospective trekkers. I can be reached at the above address, fax and phone numbers and I will be happy to answer questions and give more information. (See below for E-mail information)
I am knowledgeable about many areas of Nepal and can custom-design treks for groups from two to 16 members. I am most interested in taking visitors to little-known remote villages where foreigners rarely go, in showing them the warm welcomes they will receive and in communicating the culture of my country and its many different ethnic groups. At the same time, of course, visitors will see the magnificent snow-capped Himalaya, the youngest and most beautiful mountains in the world.
In my country, "Namaste" means, "I salute the divine in you." I hope we will have the pleasure of working together.
