This department comprises four sections.
This section offers courses at B.N.D (Brunei National Diploma) and B.T.C (Brunei Trade Certificates) level. The courses are designed to give the students a sound and basic knowledge in the principles of automotive engineering with a view to provide them adequate understanding and practical skills to enable them to assume a responsible role in the automotive establishment.
This section offers B.N.D course in Manufacturing / Computer-Aided Engineering Design as well as B.T.C course in Machining Trade. While diploma course concentrates on enabling the students to possess a sound knowledge of the manufacturing engineering, the trade courses are practical-oriented with students spending more than fifty percent time in the workshop.
This section offers B.N.D courses in Plant Engineering and Class "V" Marine Engineering. In both of these courses major emphasis is laid on practical skills alongside a strong theoretical knowledge. These courses are tailored to equip the students with the techniques of maintenance engineering and as such are in great demand both by Brunei Shell Petroleum and private sectors.
This section offers courses leading to the award of B.N.D in Welding Technology. It also runs B.T.C course in Welding. These courses are designed to equip the students with necessary skills in Welding and Fabrication in line with modern day technology. The trade certificate courses are geared towards providing proficiency while the diploma courses aim at the broad-based in Welding and Metallurgy.
